Community Guidelines
Last updated: 10 June 2026
Nattive works because both sides show up in good faith — learners practising, speakers helping. These guidelines keep it that way. They apply to everyone, on every call and message. Breaking them can cost you your account.
Treat people with respect
Be polite and patient. Everyone here is practising or working. No harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation.
No discrimination or hate
Don’t attack or demean anyone based on religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexuality, age or disability. There’s no place for slurs or hate speech on Nattive.
Nattive isn’t a dating site
This isn’t Tinder. Don’t use Nattive to flirt, chat someone up, or fish for their Snapchat or socials. No sexual content, romantic advances or nudity. We understand people can genuinely connect over a good conversation, but that’s not what Nattive is for, and it’s not what the other person signed up for. Don’t harass anyone, ever. If you’re reported for this kind of behaviour, you’ll be banned.
Keep it neutral
Don’t push your religious or political views on the other person. You can discuss topics as language practice, but don’t preach, recruit or pressure.
Present yourself properly on calls
Dress appropriately, as you would for a video call with someone you don’t know. Use a sensible, private setting. Don’t take calls while driving or doing something that needs your attention elsewhere.
Mind your language
Swearing isn’t banned in normal conversation, but keep it considerate. No slurs, no aggressive or abusive language aimed at the other person.
Show up and be present
Be on time and give the conversation your attention. Don’t leave someone waiting or multitask through a paid session.
Respect privacy
Don’t record a call without the other person’s clear agreement. Don’t share anyone’s personal information, photos or messages outside Nattive.
Keep it on Nattive
Don’t move conversations off the platform to avoid fees, and don’t share contact details to do so. Don’t use Nattive to advertise or sell other services.
Be honest
No impersonation, fake profiles, scams or attempts to defraud anyone.
Report problems
If someone makes you uncomfortable or breaks these rules, report them or email privacy@nattive.app. We take reports seriously and act on them.
If you break the rules
Depending on how serious it is, we may give a warning, suspend your account, or remove it permanently. For serious breaches we may also withhold related payouts. We decide this at our discretion to keep Nattive safe for everyone.
